Lingoda is a good choice if you want live online classes in English, German, French, Italian or Spanish with a fixed price every 4 weeks. It is less suitable if you want a language it doesn’t teach, or one-to-one lessons at the lowest price. The free 7-day trial makes it easy to check the format before you pay.

Lingoda prices
Lingoda shows prices in euros on its English pricing page. Plans renew every 4 weeks. The page doesn’t label which set of plans is group and which is private, but the cheaper set matches group classes and the dearer one private classes.
| Classes per 4 weeks | Group plan | Private plan |
|---|---|---|
| 4 | €44.99 | €109.99 |
| 8 | €63.99 | €148.99 |
| 16 | €116.99 | €256.99 |
| 32 | €180.99 | €394.99 |
That works out at about €11.49 down to €5.49 per group class, and €27.49 down to €12.49 per private class, depending on the plan size. Bigger plans are cheaper per class, but only if you actually use them. Lingoda says unused classes roll over to the next period.
Prices can depend on your country and on where you pay (website or app store). Check the price shown to you before you subscribe.

Pros and cons
Pros
- Fixed price every 4 weeks, so your budget is predictable
- Group classes from about €5.49 each on the largest plan
- 7-day free trial with 3 group classes or 1 private class
- Unused classes roll over, according to Lingoda
Cons
- Only 6 courses: English, Business English, German, French, Italian, Spanish
- Private plans cost more per hour than many marketplace tutors
- You need to book classes regularly to get value from bigger plans
- The pricing page doesn't label group and private plans clearly
Lingoda vs tutor marketplaces
On Preply, the average hourly rate is $30 for US tutors of English and $23 for non-native tutors of English, according to Preply. italki gives a range of $4 to $60 an hour. Those prices are in US dollars, so compare them with Lingoda’s euro prices at your own bank’s rate.
The bigger difference is the model. On a marketplace you pay per lesson and can stop any time. On Lingoda you pay a plan every 4 weeks, which suits people who study several times a week. Our online tutor cost guide shows example monthly budgets for both.
Who Lingoda suits
- Learners of English, German, French, Italian or Spanish who want a routine.
- People who like learning in a small group and want a lower price per class.
- Anyone who wants a set budget every 4 weeks instead of paying per lesson.
It suits you less if you study only now and then, or if you want the cheapest possible conversation practice. In that case, italki community tutors or a free app may be enough: see free ways to learn a language.
